Hurricane Irma came down on the Caribbean Islands and caused millions of dollars worth of damage to cars, buildings, and more. One of the most famous webcams in the area is the Maho Beach Cam which provides watchers a prime view of airplanes landing on the famous island. St. Maarten is a popular destination for aviation enthusiasts due to Maho Beach, this beach sits right at the edge of Princess Juliana Airport in the landing zone for aircraft and provides great views.

As Hurricane Irma whipped through it destroyed the camera but provided amazing views of just how powerful this hurricane is. All you can see is palm trees being almost uprooted by the winds and visibility almost nothing.

The winds were up to 120 miles an hour gusting up to 140 miles an hour. These winds are not to be messed around with, anything it picks up is a projectile that could injure anyone in its path and then keeps going.

It will take the island a long time to recover after the amount of damage that was done to the island, pictures we’ve seen of the aftermath shows just how much can happen when mother nature decides to bring down her fist.
